Microsoft Windows Vista with Ebix Products
Question:
Does Ebix
support Microsoft Windows Vista for use with any of its products?
Answer:
As of
December 12, 2006 Ebix has not certified the new Microsoft Vista
operating system with any of its products. Ebix advises staying
on your current operating system (Windows 2000 or Windows XP)
until our certification process is complete. If you must purchase
a new PC, you should purchase a Windows Vista Capable PC with
Windows XP and plan to upgrade to Windows Vista at a later date.
Windows Vista will be broadly available January 30, 2007. Visit
www.microsoft.com for more information on Windows Vista.
Ebix has
begun the certification process for Windows Vista Business and
Windows Vista Ultimate editions. There are no plans to certify
Windows Vista Home or Windows Vista Home Premium. As Ebix
completes the certification process with each of its products, an
announcement will be posted to the respective products EbixSupport
web page.
If you
choose to upgrade to Windows Vista or purchase a new PC with
Windows Vista pre-installed before Ebix finishes its
certification, you are taking a risk as there are unknown
variables that may effect the operation of your Ebix software.
Ebix will not take responsible for troubleshooting or fixing any
problems resulting from the use of the Microsoft Vista operating
system prior to Ebix certification.
